The British Truth: Some Time in Scotland

We are now in the second week in November and my body is beginning to expect the weather to get into the low 40’s on a regular basis, but instead it was in the high 40’s low 50’s in London this week with little rain!! (which is good because my umbrella is MIA at the moment) I took a personal day Thursday afternoon and walked around Richmond Park. Even though London is known for its city bustle, there are some gorgeous green areas and wildlife! It was quite relaxing to have my lunch in the park, surrounded by fresher air for a change.

The highlight of my week, however began on Friday when we left for our ISA excursion to Scotland. The early departure and long train ride proved to be worth it as we got into Edinburgh late afternoon. We were only there for 2 nights and had a lot to see so we got to work right away with the Edinburgh Castle. It was a similar to other castles we have visited but it was up on a hill overlooking the city so the view was amazing! It was one of the first decent sunsets I have seen since I had left the States.

Since Edinburgh is considered the most haunted city in the UK, we couldn’t leave without going on a Ghost Tour through the underground vaults. The walk was good and scary, due mostly to our stupendous guide!

Saturday consisted mostly of a coach tour through the Highland in which we were able to experience the gorgeous landscape Scotland is made up of. It was nice to get out of the city for a weekend and see a different type of scenery, but good none the less. We ended the weekend climbing up the side of a volcano before heading back to London.
