A Trip to “The End of the World”

Rebecca Roebuck is a student at Oklahoma State University, and an ISA Featured Blogger. She is currently studying abroad with ISA in Valparaiso, Chile.

Three weeks ago I traveled to “The End of the World,” Patagonia, Chile. Myself, along with three other buddies began what would be a week long backpacking and camping trip through the great unknowns of Torres del Paine National Park.

I can tell you with great confidence that the amateur backpackers we all four were came out of the trail six days later having shed a few tears, laughed (at ourselves mostly) a lot, and were truly speechless at the sights we saw throughout our trip.

Backpacks full of empty Snickers wrappers, the reek smell of the clothes we had been wearing for a week straight on our non-showered bodies, and the soreness  from the 90L (you read it correctly!) backpack we so begrudgingly hauled through our 75km trek all contributed to the immense amount of character we had just built.

As much as I could try, words truly cannot do this experience justice. For a fun seven minute look of my seven day journey through Patagonia, check out the video I made below!

The world awaits…discover it.
