Studying abroad in Florence, I knew I would go on weekend trips to various places around Europe, but I never expected to fall in love with a place until I arrived in the Amalfi Coast and traveled to the island of Capri. When we arrived, we stayed in the Hostel Klein Wien, which had a beautiful marina in front of it that had a view of the sea.
The first day, we took a bus to the town of Positano where we relaxed on the beach, took a boat ride to a hidden cave where we could swim, and ate amazing pizza.
The second day we were in the Amalfi, we got on a ferry to the island of Capri where we took a boat tour around the entire island, seeing the hillsides of Capri.
While boating around the Island, our Bus2Alps guide pointed out the most famous Lighthouse in Italy – Punta Carena.
Taking in the sites of the many hills, we also got to go through the famous Faraglioni rocks – something I never thought I would get the chance to see in my lifetime. They did not disappoint!
When we eventually arrived at the Capri marina, we were able to go do what we wanted to do – hike, shop, eat, beach, or take the chairlift up to Anacapri. My friends and I chose to take the chairlift to experience Anacapri and to see what it was like.
Being a person who is afraid of heights, I knew that this wasn’t going to be an easy task for me, but even though the height scared me, the views made up for it!
Being on a time crunch, I couldn’t stay up in Anacapri for very long, so we hopped back on the chairlift to go back down to Capri to head back to Sorrento.
I loved my time in Capri and am determined to visit again. Looking back on pictures, I still cannot believe I was able to go to the Amalfi Coast and Capri. It was an amazing mini vacation, and I would highly recommend going to the Amalfi Coast!
The world awaits…discover it.
