I have to say, a week before my life started abroad, I had thought I had made a mistake on where I chose to study.  I had already been to Prague beforehand, and I could not get out of my mind the questions “What if I had chosen somewhere else to study?” and “Should I have gone further from home?”

When I arrived at my apartment in the district of Zizkov, I quickly changed my mind.  I had returned to truly one of the most beautiful cities I had ever seen. In the weeks to follow, some people said I was unfortunate to end up in the Zizkov area and that it was one of the worse areas in Prague.  I can tell you all with full confidence, there are no “worse” areas of Prague. The entire city is astounding and each district has its own perks and hidden wonders.

If one asked my advice about where to go in Prague, I would honestly tell them to hide from the main tourist attractions and ask a local the best restaurants, bars, and coffee venues in the area.  If you try to visit at least half of them, then you will see a large portion of the city you didn’t think possible before.

While I do advise predominantly staying away from the touristy areas, if you have more than a few days in the city make sure you check out the Astronomical clock tower, the Vita Cathedral, and Prague Castle.

You will notice that a good portion of my photos focus on the buildings and architecture in Prague.  This is because Prague, the fairy-tale city, has one of the richest histories of architecture in the world from Romanesque and Gothic to Ultra Modern.
