3 Must-See Places on the Gold Coast

Lynsey Garfinkel is a student at the University of North Carolina – Wilmington and an ISA Featured Photo Blogger. She is currently studying abroad with ISA in Gold Coast, Australia.

While studying abroad in Gold Coast, you will find that there are three places you absolutely must see that might even become a regular place to hang out!

  1. Purling Brook Falls

This jungle paradise is only a 45 minute drive from the beach, and instantly, I felt like I was in a new country! Purling Brook Falls is apart of Springbrook National Park. Throughout the hike, there are beautiful lookouts to see different views of the waterfalls. After about an hour hike through jungle trails, stairs, and bridges, I was down at the bottom of the waterfall, where I enjoyed a picnic lunch with some friends!

2. Coolangatta

I have been here quite a few times, and is one of my favorite places! Coolangatta is known for it’s legendary surf break, Snapper Rocks! It has a beautiful scenic coastal walk through trees and lots of shops and restaurants, and even some live music! Coolangatta is the perfect spot for a day in the sun!

3. Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Heads is a great beach town with a small town feel! This funky beach spot has great trails along the sea, perfect for a morning run, or an afternoon stroll! There is a few clothing shops, and restaurants that are worth checking out! The people are nice and welcoming, and happy to show their home to you!

The world awaits…discover it.
